Appointments Only!!

Q: Why?

A: Because we are short-staffed. After COVID hit for the first time, we lost all of our employees. We contemplated closing the store down, but decided to stay open by appointments only for our repeat customers and those that hear about us through word-of-mouth. This is the only way we can ensure that every customer is helped as much as they can be, and also to lessen our burn-out during our busy seasons.

Q: How?

A: Just give us a call at 248.577.1397 and say that you would like to set up an appointment. If it goes to voicemail, leave a voicemail saying that you'd like to set up an appointment, and we'll call you back. We'll ask you a semi-long list of questions. Some customers do not like this, but this is to ensure that no one is wasting their time- both the customers, and us. We want to make sure that we even have anything for people that actually bother to make an appointment. We have customers from all over the world, so if someone is making a drive/taking a flight of more than an hour long, that trip and gas/ticket better not be wasted.

Q: When?

A: Just a couple days out before you want to show up is fine.

​

Procedure: The door to our store will be locked. Call once you're at the door. Say that you're here for your appointment, and state the name on the appointment. We will come to the door, get your temperature, and give you hand sanitizer.

​

Q: What if I'm early?

A: That's okay. If we aren't too busy with customers before you, we will start to help you right away. If we are, then we'll just have you look around the store yourself and pick your dresses out until we can assist you.

​

Q: What if I'm late?

A: That's okay, as long as you're not the last appointment for the day. If you are, then we have to reschedule you for another day, because we have to go home!

FYI: If you're late by 15 minutes or less, you don't have to call when you're on the way saying that you'll be late. You're fine!

Q: How do I reschedule/cancel?

A: Just call us, tell us when the appointment was for, and we'll reschedule or cancel it for you.

​

Thanks in advance for your cooperation with our appointment-only policy. We know it's a hassle, but some of our repeat customers have told us that they prefer this, and we prefer this way of business as well, as it helps keep costs on human resources low, and we can give customers more of their deserved attention during their appointment.

Q: Can I rent a dress?

A: No. Our business is only for selling.

 

Q: Will you buy my used prom dress?

A: No. Our store is not a re-sell store. We only sell new, authentic dresses.

​

Q: I want to start to shop around for getting some idea one year before the prom date, can I try-on any at your store?

A: You can set up an appointment for next year's prom dress try-on. Walk-in to try-on without the appointment starts January

     next year. "What if there is a really good dress that I like in your store to purchase today?" You can let us know, we will try

     to do our best finding your dress.

Q: Can I try on dresses just to get some idea with no intention to purchase?

A: We don't mind people's visit to our store. However, we do not appreciate any visitors who just bother our business. More

     than too many people come to our store to try-on dresses for fun, for getting some idea of which style looks good on

     them, or for dress information. Please understand, we pay unbelievably a lot of money for every single dress to be brought         in, and whenever people try-on, the dresses get damaged. And our dresses are very expensive. Not like casual wear, all

     dresses are made out of very delicate materials and jewels which can be snagged, dropped stones and beads, or ripped.

     Please mind us and our employees.

Q: What is your price range?

A: We have $50.00 to more than $1500.00 range. It depends upon what kind of dresses you are looking for. For prom,

     quinceanera, or engagement? You might need to prepare around 250.00-700.00 dollars ​if you want a good-looking dress,

     and not a cheap look. What about for homecoming? We have dresses around $50.00-$300.00. Again, it depends on what             kind of dresses you are looking for.

Q: Do you have a lay-away plan?

A: Yes, we do for prom girls. We normally don't accept lay-away purchase from all customers except prom girls. Most prom

     dresses are expensive, and some prom girls are buying dresses on their own. We value these customers. The 30-day lay-

     away plan requires 30% down payment up front.

Q: How many dresses can I try on per day?

A: Under the condition of a purchase, we recommend all customers to try on less than five. If you need more to try on, ask our

     sales rep. It is a good idea to start with any sales associate's help from the beginning rather than just grabbing the dresses. 

     Our professional sales rep will find a decent perfect dress for you based upon your budget and your preferences.

Q: How large is your selection?

A: We bet there is no other store that has larger selections than our store in Michigan. We do have 6,000 selections always

     in stock.

Q: Do you sell the same style of the dress to the same school's prom/homecoming girl?  

A: We keep our prom dress sales record and track back whenever we sell any prom dress that costs more than $250.00

     ($200.00 for homecoming dress) before tax. In the event, our sales record indicates that any of your school girls already

     bought the same style in the same color as you wanted, we advise not to purchase. So ask our sales associates to find out if        any particular dress has already been taken by any of your school girls before you plan to try on. Don't cry, when someone

     else already purchased what you liked. We have 6,000 selections. You will find your dress!

Q: Any special promotion for prom girls?

A: Yes, we offer Early bird's special--10% discount when you purchase in January of every year. This promotion doesn't apply to

     lay-away purchases.  This promo cannot be combined with any other discount offer. All discount offers do not apply to lay-

     away purchases.

Q: Is on-line store dress price cheaper than yours?

A: Our dress prices are very reasonable. We offer the same prices as online stores with a very reasonable steaming charge

​​

Q: Why do I need to buy at your store? Not online store?

A: We have witnessed a lot of people who have come to our store after they get ripped off online. The problems you might face are:

   1) Not the colors you expected as pictured color on your computer screen. Actual material colors are totally different from

       pictured. 

   2) Not the style that you dreamed. Because models' bodies and complexions are differ from yours. 

   3) Not the quality that you expected. You need to remember that the picture of the dresses always look better than real                   dresses. Most of them end up putting ordered dresses in a trash can.

   4) Not the delivery date you were promised-- During the prom time, don't expect any on-time delivery. Get it at the

       store just right after you try on. Don't need to wait.

   5) You might get the wrong size. So you'll end up throwing away what you got online. The little boutiques   

       that take book orders or online stores promise and ask customers to pay for it. You will probably end up getting another

       dress by recommendation. Please do not waste your important time, and just come to our store. Try-on and get it on                     the same day. Price is also the same as or cheaper than online stores. Again, we do not appreciate any visitors who try-on           to only get the dress information.

Q: Do you have a return policy?

A: We used to, but no more. Our items are all for special occasions for one night. If you wear it carefully, every thing will look

     like unworn. More than too many people want to return or exchange after worn. Therefore, unfortunately, "Final Sale" is our

     store policy.

​

Q: Where in Oakland Mall is your store, which entrance?

A: Our store is on the second level of the JC Penny Wing, next to FYE. If you want to know how to get here, please refer to our          contact page. See the map of our store location and type in your address after clicking on the map, followed by hitting                  "enter".

Q: Do you do alteration?

A: We have a free-lance alteration seamstress who provides excellent services at a very reasonable service charge. The dresses

     not purchased from our store are not acceptable for the service. Please make an appointment with "Libby".

Q: Can I take pictures of the dresses in the store?

A: Please do not take any pictures. No pictures allowed.​

​

Q: Business hours?

A: By appointment only. Call 248-577-1397 and set up an appointment. We do not open at extended hours during the year-end      holiday season.
